Post Curriculum Night

Good evening 2B families,

Thank you for attending curriculum night.
If you were unable to attend: Email me for the presentation and I will send home the resources that were on your child's desk. (we wrote your kiddo a note if you did not attend in response to their note for you. We will be sure to send the note/info. home tomorrow) Please reach out to me if you have any questions.

All families:
Please see the following links for additional curriculum resources to support and challenge your scholar/ parent curriculum info.

The second parent session tonight had time for questions and we were asked about reading levels / your child's reading level etc...
Answer:
Later this first quarter you will be notified of your child's A-Z reading level. We generate this level based off of your child's reading scores and DIBELS results. There will be weekly homework targeted at your child's level for both fluency and reading comprehension (sometimes these are diff levels, depending on the child). There will be directions for the leveled nightly fluency homework we provide each child when we start fluency later this quarter.

Another area we covered tonight I'd like to ensure all parents are well informed of is...Rocket math: NEW HOMEWORK STARTING TOMORROW!
Tomorrow, Friday-August 17th we will send home your child's second grade math fact fluency homework. Our math fact fluency is rocket math. Your child has been leveled and you will see a sheet/addition level in a protective sheet coming home. This is to stay in their orange folder. Please check their orange folder tomorrow for specific instructions regarding this new nightly homework assignment / future action item of what to do when they pass their level to keep the protective sheet updated.

If you feel your child could use enrichment for any subject to further challenge them - please reach out to me. I have many resources and would love to target the areas your child could be pushed to further grow/develop and deepen skills they are demonstrating mastery of. Growth is the primary goal for each and every scholar on an individual level.

My best,

Breanne Hadley
