Quarter 4 Week 2

Hello Parents!

A HUGE thank you to everyone for coming together to make Westward Expansion Day a success!! The cowpokes had so much fun during this wonderful experiential learning opportunity. The teachers also truly enjoyed this opportunity to bond with our students outside of the normal classroom routine. We are so grateful for our liaisons, volunteers, and parent community as a whole.

If you are interested in being a chaperone, please email me directly to be placed on the list. Names of chaperones will be drawn randomly.

A Look in the Classroom

We will then jump into the exciting world of fractions in on Thursday and Friday.  This unit begins with an exploration of halves, fourths, and thirds.  One aspect of fractions that we will emphasize is fairness in fractions.  For example, there is a way to cut a pizza into two parts and it not to be halves which would not be fair!

2.     Friday: Spelling Test

Wishing you a fantastic weekend with your scholars,

Best,

Dear 2B Families,

Please see the note below regarding the Great Hearts survey from administration. :)

Best,

Mrs. Bowers

Dear Great Hearts Families,

Please take 7-10 minutes to help us make a good thing better! This survey is a key tool to help us understand what is important to each of you and where we can improve Great Hearts. Your responses are anonymous. Everything you write will be read by your headmaster and regional executive team to help identify and prioritize areas for improvement in the coming year.
Please take one survey for each school where you have a child enrolled and note that Archway and Prep are different schools.

The survey will remain available until 11:59 PM PST on March 31.

Please contact Katie Carmer at kcarmer@greatheartsamerica.org with questions or if you have difficulties completing the survey.

Additionally, if you would like to speak with your headmaster or someone at your child’s school about a specific issue or concern, you are always welcome to contact the school directly.

Introducing Ms. Bachman

Hello, Families of 2B-

I’m honored and excited to be fulfilling the role of Assistant Teacher for Mrs. Bowers! Over the last ten years I’ve had the pleasure of teaching Kindergarten, Elementary, and Univeristy students. I most recently have enjoyed teaching in the cooperate IT/InfoSec industry, but I’m thrilled to rejoin the traditional classroom setting.

I am originally from the Bay Area, California but spent about 5 years aboard in South Korea before returning back to the states and eventually settling down in Chandler, Arizona. My older son is a student in the KD class at Archway Lincoln and my littlest one is enrolled for next year’s Kindergarten class. All three of us are very happy to be apart of the Lincoln family. I look forward to getting to know the 2B students and their families!

In Partnership,
Ms. Christine Bachman

We are so blessed to have Ms. Bachman in 2B. Please reach out and make her feel welcomed!
Miss Hadley, Mrs. Bowers, and now Ms. Bachman will be finishing Quarter 3 together.
Great things are ahead with a beautiful, growing Quarter 4 on the horizon!

-Miss H.
